2019 Gala Raises Over $155,000 for YFC Clients

YFC's Night In Havana Gala Committee

Hats off to the ladies of Youth & Family Counseling’s Auxiliary for coordinating an incredible 2019 Gala!  As these photos will attest, this year’s colorful, Cuban-themed event, A Night in Havana, was a roaring success.  Held on Saturday, September 14 at the elegant Ivanhoe Golf Club in Mundelein, YFC's Gala welcomed nearly 175 guests, who joined together to raise over $155,000 in support of YFC’s work.  The evening included cocktails, Live and Silent Auctions, brightly-colored centerpieces courtesy of floral artist Stephanie Marcus, dinner and dancing to the lively music of Cuban band Charangueo.

In one of the most moving segments of the night, guest speakers Mary & Katie Albrecht shared their emotional story of the ways in which YFC therapists helped them overcome past abuse and emotional struggles.  Mary and Katie are mental health advocates and authors of the memoir Broken Nek, which recounts their personal journey toward recovery and mental health.

Libertyville residents Anne Brandt and Maria Rill co-chaired the festivities. Committee members included Caryn Ahern, Patricia Bleck, Jen Crane, Tierney DeLude, Karina Formento, Annette Freyman, Kirstin Griffith, Jodi Hackendahl, Michelle Krumm, Kaarn Luce, Sharon Mullins, Lorraine Pritchard, Casey Rooney, Kathleen Salemi, Leia Skie, Erin Swearingin, Laurie Wienke and Judy Zoellick.

Funds raised from the Gala are used to underwrite counseling for children, teens, adults and families who cannot afford the cost of services.  This important event helps YFC open doors to mental health care to all who need it in central Lake County.

Special thanks to our 2019 Premier Sponsors Allstate, BCU, and Vernon Hills Dental;  to Platinum Sponors Annette & Tom Freyman; and to Gold Sponsors Brake Parts, Inc. and JLL.  Additional support was also provided by Silver Sponsors Advocate Condell Medical Center; Phil & Treacy Cutting; Debra Kullman; Lorraine & Greg Pritchard;  and Bronze Sponsors Dalco Metals; Richard & Sandy Hutson; Steve & Terry Ihm; Kirkland & Ellis;  Libertyville Bank & Trust; Lance & Carol Piccolo; and Semmelman & Wisneski.

And please mark your calendar for September 26, 2020, when YFC's Gala will light up Libertyville's Independence Grove with another knock-your-socks-off event!
