Bithynia Abarca is a licensed marriage and family therapist who sees children as young as four, adolescents, adults and families. Bithynia comes from a bilingual/bicultural background, and has a special interest in multi-cultural and diversity issues. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Bithynia is trained in a number of clinical methods including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and Bowenian Family Systems therapy. She tailors her approach to the needs of each individual client.
Prior to coming to YFC, Bithynia worked as a pre-school teacher at the Vernon Hills YMCA, and has been a Youth Pastor for over six years. These experiences solidified her desire to work with children and adolescents in her counseling career
