Carolyn Parker, MA, MS, LCPC

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Children, adolescents & adults

Carolyn has been interested in psychotherapy for as long as she can remember. An intuitive and empathic counselor, Carolyn believes her role as a therapist is to walk through challenges with her clients as they grow and change. Carolyn brings a wealth of knowledge to her work, including diverse life experiences and hands-on clinical research.

Carolyn has lived throughout the U.S. and in Japan as part of a military family, giving her personal insight into managing change and adapting to new situations. As a graduate student, Carolyn’s masters’ thesis focused on the effects that a miscarriage can have on couples. This research led to her interest in working with women, both individually and in groups. She also has experience in grief counseling, and can provide support through painful transitions such as divorce or loss of a loved one due to deployment, incarceration or death.

Using techniques such as emotional-focused therapy and cognitive and dialectic behavior therapy, Carolyn works with the unique needs of each client.  Her goal is to create a safe environment in which clients can explore emotions and find support and healing.
