Everyone needs a safe place to explore the feelings, thoughts, and patterns that prevent them from moving forward. I bring an authentic, warm, client-centered approach to therapy. Together, we will cultivate the healthy patterns and tools you need to heal from past wounds and live a more enriching life.
Throughout my 35-year career as a military pilot and airline Captain, I saw too many people suffer in silence from addictions, depression, and anxiety, with many of them ultimately taking their own lives. Now, in my second career as a licensed professional therapist, I specialize in working with professionals and executives who may feel like they have nowhere else to turn. I have extensive experience working with professionals in recovery and understand their unique needs, including maintaining or regaining licensure/certification.
Even though I specialize in working with professionals I also serve the general adult population including the adult and teen LGBTQ community, with an emphasis on anxiety, depression, and alcohol/substance use disorders, utilizing an abstinence-based approach for long-term sobriety. I introduce and train my clients in the practice of mindfulness, which is useful as a skill/tool to cope with depression, anxiety, relapse prevention, and as part of an overall ongoing wellness plan. I can meet you in person at my location in Libertyville at Youth & Family Counseling, or we can meet online via Zoom. I look forward hearing from you.
